Frequently asked questions
How to compare bank statement with salary sheet?
Upload the salary sheet (or labour sheet, attendance sheet) and the bank statement, Excel or PDF. Match on the worker name with fuzzy matching (or on account number if both files have it) and compare net pay with the amount paid. You get unpaid workers, short or excess payments, and payments to people who are not on the salary sheet.
How do I match worker names to bank statement narrations?
Match on the worker name and the narration column. Separators such as / and - are treated as spaces and extra words are ignored, so "Ramesh Kumar" on the salary sheet matches "NEFT/RAMESH KUMAR/SBIN0001234" on the statement, while a different person still scores low.
A worker was paid in two transfers. Will that show as a mismatch?
Not if you group first. When the statement has a beneficiary or payee column, use Group & merge rows on the Review screen to sum the amounts per payee, then compare that total with the worker's net pay.
Can it find payments to people who are not on the salary sheet?
Yes. Statement rows that no worker matched are listed separately as "Paid, not in salary sheet", so payments to people missing from the salary sheet stand out.
